That was
it.
There

Return them.
There's

them to the graves.
Set them

the
stone or
lay on the slab.
If you live without Shakespeare, Chaucer is some consolation.

He placed each egg
carefully in the
carton and slid
the
carton onto
the bottom shelf
and closed the
refrigerator door hoping the
cold
would slow
down the obsession contained
in each egg
and
the closed
door keep each
obsession confined should each
manage to break
from its egg.
This
method worked
better than sealed boxcars
and was less
objectionable.

10000 volts powering
a suburban train
shrivels him to the size of a ham.
Sneakers over a power line,
rot above the street.

where to go what to do next the oceans rise up to meet us and kick us away, push us further up the beach and up the mountains we never knew or thought they could climb that high but there you have it. The ocean is on the mountain and I don't mean like I mean on this is is no metaphor, no, the is something astonishing something never before seen at least by humans though perhaps it had happened before like millions of years ago. What if all the world was mountainous once and the ocean came and smashed everything down, and not the other way around?

How many times must they go

Then they walked along the
river. There were dead
things there, and garbage, and
living things seeking
to find the sun above.
This river was always this way,
she said. Since she
was a little girl she
walked along picking
up bottles to collect deposits.
